Prof John Campbell

John Campbell is Professor of General Practice and Primary Care at the University of Exeter Medical School. He has previously held academic appointments at King’s College London and the University of Edinburgh. John has led academic primary care in the southwest peninsula since 2002. His personal research interests focus on improving access to, and patient experience of, primary care, quality assessment in primary care, cardiovascular risk and mitigation, and provision of mental health care for patients in primary care settings. Most recently, John has jointly led academic work around the English GP Patient Survey, and published the results of the ESTEEM trial of telephone triage in primary care in the Lancet.
