Secure Environments Group - RCGP and SAPC

The RCGP Secure Environments Group is committed to healthcare delivery of the highest standards to people in contact with the health and justice system.

We are committed to the development of the educational and developmental needs required to improve the consistency and quality of healthcare to people residing within secure establishments (prisons, immigration removal centres, secure training centres, secure hospitals, young offender’s institutes).

We are committed to the development of a research strategy in order to benchmark and determine the health outcomes of our population to ensure that standards and health outcomes are defined, measured and met.

We are conscious that our patient group also represents a significant proportion of people who share factors associated with health inequalities including alcohol & substance misuse, homelessness, mental health issues and many other issues.

We aim to work with a number of other stakeholders to deliver a multi-disciplinary approach to the education and training of the various members of the workforce (e.g. security and healthcare).
