Ageing is one of Newcastle University's three Societal Challenge Themes. It is an extension of more than 20 years of ageing research in the city, which has positioned us amongst a handful of global leaders in the field. Under the umbrella of the Newcastle University Institute for Ageing, we have a significant number of academics, clinicians and researchers working on all aspects of ageing; from medical, biological and cellular, to psychosocial, economic and environmental.

Warwick Primary Care is the focal point for research, teaching and development work at Warwick Medical School related to primary care.

91% of Keele’s research in Primary Care has been judged world leading or internationally excellent by the Public Health, Health Services Research, and Primary Care assessment panel of the 2014 Universities UK’s Research Excellence Framework (REF).  On the basis of World Leading or Internationally Excellent research (3* and 4*), Keele is ranked 3rd nationally.

Primary care research and postgraduate teaching in Manchester covers a broad range of policy and practice themes relevant to primary care and the NHS. The group is a large and lively complement of multi-disciplinary researchers interested in researching a wide range of topics relevant to primary care and policy.

Our eclectic and broad view of what primary care is has helped shape the strategic focus of our long-term research, which is characterised by a blend of contributions from a wide range of disciplines. These include:

A department of the University of Oxford, they undertake internationally acclaimed teaching and research that improves the primary care that your GP practice delivers.

They also teach elements of the undergraduate programme in ,medicine including arranging placements for medical students in GP practices. Our teaching is consistently ranked very highly by Oxford undergraduates.
