Executive, co-opted co-lead of PHoCuS, Scientific Programme Committee member ASM 2023

I joined the SAPC executive as an co-opted member in 2022, becoming the joint lead for the Primary Health Care Scientists (PHoCuS) Group with Dr Julia Hiscock. I have been a member of SAPC since 2009.

My early background is in Psychology and I have worked in academic primary care for nearly 15 years. I have worked extensively alongside clinical colleagues as a primary health care scientist in a variety of research fellow and project management roles at the University of Exeter Medical School to deliver a range of NIHR-funded health services research projects.

In recent years, the research I have been involved in has increasingly focused on GP workload and workforce issues and continues to be an area I am passionate in supporting. I am currently undertaking my PhD, which started in 2019, working with colleagues in Exeter to examine the impact of GPs' use of electronic risk assessment tools on GP workload.
